The Scientific Centre for Drug Research of Nicolae Testemitanu State University of Medicine and Pharmacy was founded based on an order of the Ministry of Health on October 14, 2006. Currently, 44 people work at the Centre, of which 8 Habilitated Doctors of Sciences and 19 Doctors of Sciences. The Centre has 4 laboratories:
Medicinal Plants and Phytochemistry Laboratory
Drug Analysis, Standardization and Control Laboratory
Preclinical and Clinical Drug Evaluation Laboratory
Pharmaceutical Technology and Technology Transfer Laboratory
Tasks of the Centre:
- the development and implementation of new and reproduced drugs, mainly based on local raw materials;
- optimization of modern pharmacotherapy according to the principles of evidence-based medicine;
- promoting measures and actions in order to minimize the negative results of treatment with medications;
- the training of highly qualified personnel in the field of drugs and pharmaceutical activity;
- provision of paid services in accordance with current legislation.
