Exchange of good practices for ”Nicolae Testemitanu” University resident doctors at the Summer School of Oral and Maxillo-facial Surgery

A delegation from Nicolae Testemitanu State University of Medicine and Pharmacy participated in the Summer School of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery – (SVOMF-2026) – an academic event for continuing professional training.

The event took place between May 22-24 and was organized in the city of Gura Humorului, Romania, by the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Association of Iasi, under the scientific coordination of Prof. Dr. Victor Vlad Costan from Grigore T. Popa University of Medicine and Pharmacy of Iasi.

Nicolae Testemitanu University was represented by 12 resident doctors, who participated in the theoretical and practical activities included in the school's program. The delegation was coordinated by University Professor Nicolae Chele, Head of the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, who participated as a speaker with thematic lectures and practical workshops. 

The event brought together 70 resident physicians from Romania and the Republic of Moldova, providing an academic framework conducive to experience exchange, enhancing professional skills and promoting excellence in the field of oral and maxillofacial surgery.

Prof. Nicolae Chele mentioned that the participation of resident physicians of Nicolae Testemitanu University in this scientific event contributed to strengthening academic relations between medical institutions in Romania and the Republic of Moldova and reflected the University's commitment to the continuous training of young specialists.

The scientific program included lectures, clinical demonstrations and practical sessions held by 11 renowned speakers from four university centers: Iasi, Cluj-Napoca, Timisoara and Chisinau.

During the three days, participants addressed major topics in the field, such as oral-maxillofacial fractures, implantology and bone augmentation in the context of tumor sequelae, facial trauma and periodontal disease.
